Garage door wheel came off the track and the door won't close?
A garage door with a wheel off the track needs the roller set back in the track, the reason it jumped out found and fixed (a worn or missing roller, a bent track, or something pushing into the track like a slide lock), and the door tested on the opener before it runs again; on our price list an off-track door reset is $160 to $320, quoted before we start.

At 3:12 PM on Friday, October 9, a homeowner in Kempsville (ZIP 23464) sent our website form: the door would not shut with the opener button, they took it off the opener to close it by hand, and one of the wheels came off the track. They asked for ASAP, today if possible. I was in the garage before 4 PM.
The top roller had come out and was missing from the door. My best read on why: the manual slide lock on the top section had been pushed against the track and was getting in the way of the door as it moved. I put in a new roller, set the door back in its track, and put a safety screw through the slide lock so it stays out of the way, since this door runs on an opener and does not need that lock. Then I ran the door up and down on the opener. Start to finish I was on site 26 minutes, about 40 minutes after the form came in.

What causes a garage door to come off its track?
